Peatlands are a finite resource, they are a unique part of our landscape heritage. Our vision - A New Contract with Nature - begins our journey out of harvesting peat and towards sustainable and renewable energy, services and products. The photographs show some of the new products we are developing for the future.
This is a selection of the machines used by Bord na Móna since its foundation in 1934. We first began using machines in the 1930s and over the years our employees have designed, developed and adapted a wide variety of machines for our unique work conditions. This spirit of practical innovation has ensured hugh improvements in productivity.
These photographs show the contribution of Bord na Móna to the local communities in our heartland. From housing estates to exhibitions and employment the company has enhanced the communities we serve and work in since 1934.
The photographs in the exhibition section display artefacts and information relevant to Bord na Móna's technical, social, economic and environmental development from 1934 up to the present day.
